CREATION OF CENTRES OF EXCELLENCE FOR
THE POOR AND TALENTED STUDENTS OF NWFP AND FATA ON DIRECTIVES
OF GOVERNOR NWFP.
On the directives of Honourable Governor
NWFP & Honourable Chief Minister NWFP, the special committee
constituted for establishment of Centres of Excellence in
FATA and NWFP has finalized the arrangements for sponsoring
free education for 180 poor and talented students of FATA
and NWFP. The program will cost Rs.1,34,10,180/- per annum
to be sponsored on 50:50 cost sharing basis for which Civil
Secretariat FATA will provide Rs.67,05,090/- and Government
of NWFP Rs.67,05,090/-. Out of total 180 seats, 90 seats are
reserved for the province of NWFP and 90 for students from
FATA. The project envisages establishment of Centers of Excellence
at the following 11 institutions.
1. Islamia Collegiate
School Peshawar.
2. University Public School Peshawar.
3. Peshawar Public School.
4. University Model School Peshawar.
5. Agriculture University Public School Peshawar.
6. FazleHaq College Mardan.
7. Durrani Public School Bannu.
8. Abbottabad Public School.
9. Malakand University School.
10. Pakistan Scouts Cadet College Batrassi.
11. Wensam College Dera Ismail Khan.
The entry test will
be conducted by Education Testing and Evaluation Authority
(ETEA) in four subjects from the course of grade 6 in English,
Maths, Science and Islamiat.
Only those candidates, who have passed their 6th grade from
the schools located in districts and tribal agencies would
be considered for admission to grade 7 after selection.
The final selection of candidates will be made by the Committee
constituted for establishment of Centres of Excellence in
coordination with two sub-committees to be constituted and
notified by Higher Education Department NWFP and FATA Education
Directorate. The selected candidates would join the respective
institutions on October 1, 2007.
The application forms can be obtained from the offices of
all the DCOs and DEOs(Education) of the District of NWFP,
Director Schools and Literacy Dabgari Garden Peshawar and
concerned Political Agents and Agency Education Officers in
FATA. Submission of Domicile Certificate from concerned District/Agency
is obligatory.
The entry test having a duration of approximately one and
a half hour, will be held at University Public School on Wednesday
29th August 2007 at
09:30 hrs and the last date for submission of applications
is 22nd August 2007. The DCOs and Political Agents would provide
pick and drop facility to the candidates from their respective
areas for the test.

concerned Political Agents as well.

ETEA CONDUCTS
ENTRY TEST EXAM FOR ADMISSION IN
CENTRES OF EXCELLENCE IN FATA AND NWFP.
The entry test exam
for admission in Grade-7 under the program for establishing
“Centers of Excellence” on the directives of Honourable
Governor NWFP and Honourable Chief Minister NWFP was successfully
conducted by ETEA at University Public School Peshawar on
29th Aug 2007.
The members of special committee constituted for establishing
the Centers of Excellence visited and supervised the exam
which was conducted orderly and transparently. A total of
1455 aspiring candidates including 1400 boys and 55 girls
appeared in the exam out of which 180 successful candidates
would be selected on merit to be admitted in the 11 specified
schools. The result has been declared on 30th Aug 2007 and
